Other issues

You may encounter other contract management issues during the term of your contract. For example, you may need to change your contact information.

If you change your contact information, such as your email or mailing address, you must provide the OPA with written notice of the change. This is a simple process and does not require a contract amendment.

If you require the contract to be changed, you must complete a contract amendment. For example, you may need to change your GST registration status if your tax status changes. To complete a contract amendment, you and the OPA must both agree to the terms of the amendment and must each sign the amendment.

You should also note that your contract may be terminated in certain instances. For example:

  • You may request that your contract be terminated – you must provide the OPA with 30 days notice if you wish to do so.
  • The OPA may terminate your contract for any breach of the contract.
  • Your contract will terminate automatically if your connection agreement with your local distribution company is terminated.

In addition, the OPA may do the following during the term of your contract:

  • audit your project
  • request that you provide copies of all statements and invoices from your local distribution company
  • ask to inspect your microFIT project.
