What if I move?As a microFIT contract holder, you may choose to move or sell your home before the end of your contract term. In this case, you must assign your microFIT contract to the new homeowner. Where a contract is assigned, the new homeowner takes over the contract for the remainder of the contract term. For example, if you had a 20-year microFIT contract and you assigned it after 15 years to a new person, the new homeowner - as the new microFIT contract holder - would receive contract payments for the remaining five years of the contract term. When you are selling your home, it is up to you (and your real estate agent) to determine the value of the microFIT project. To assign your microFIT contract to a new person, you must give the OPA notice that you intend to assign the contract and the OPA must agree to the assignment. The OPA will not withhold consent unreasonably.
