Step 2: Build and connect your project

You will need to work closely with your local distribution company to build and connect your project. When dealing with your local distribution company, be sure to provide them with your microFIT project reference number.

After you have completed the microFIT application process, you will need to:

1. consult your local distribution company to discuss connection options
2. submit a connection request form to your local distribution company
3. install your project
4. complete an electrical safety inspection of your project
5. work with your local distribution company to finalize your connection.

Your local distribution company will work with you to determine the best connection configuration for your project. It will also provide you with information about the costs associated with connecting and metering your project and ongoing account charges.
