Contract payments

Your microFIT Program application will be reviewed by the OPA. If it meets the program eligibility requirements AND you receive an offer to connect from your LDC, the OPA will send you a “Conditional Offer of microFIT Contract”.

The conditional offer will guarantee that you will receive a microFIT contract with the price that is specified in the FIT price schedule at the time the conditional offer was made.

The conditional offer will expire after 6 months.

Once your project is connected, you will be offered a microFIT contract and payments will begin.

The OPA will review the FIT price schedule during its regular program review to ensure that the prices reflect changes in market conditions and the costs of building projects.

You will receive contract payments from your local distribution company.

How payments are calculated

You will receive the contract price for each kilowatt-hour of electricity produced.
