The microFIT Program is a streamlined program for very small renewable energy projects under the umbrella of the Feed-in Tariff (FIT) Program.

Small, medium and large renewable energy projects

 

Generating over 10 kW of electricity

Very small renewable power projects, such as a home or small business installation

Generating 10 kW or less

 

You must apply for a microFIT contract to participate in the program. The contract guarantees that you will be paid a fixed price for the electricity produced by your renewable energy project.

To obtain a microFIT contract, your project must meet the program eligibility requirements and you must:

  1. complete an application for your microFIT project
  2. work with your local distribution company to get your microFIT project connected to the grid
  3. accept your microFIT contract offer from the OPA.
