Introduction

The microFIT Program is a streamlined program for very small renewable energy projects under the umbrella of the Feed-in Tariff (FIT) Program.

Small, medium and large renewable energy projects

Generating over 10 kW of electricity

Very small renewable power projects, such as a home or small business installation

Generating 10 kW or less

You must apply for a microFIT contract to participate in the program. The contract guarantees that you will be paid a fixed price for the electricity produced by your renewable energy project.

To obtain a microFIT contract, your project must meet the program eligibility requirements and you must:

complete an application for your microFIT project
work with your local distribution company to get your microFIT project connected to the grid
accept your microFIT contract offer from the OPA.
