Here's how to apply to the microFIT program, step by step:

  1. Register for the microFIT Program.

  2. When you register, a unique web page will be created for you. This is called "My microFIT home page".

  3. Create an application on your My microFIT home page. Each application that you create will be assigned a reference number for tracking purposes.

  4. Submit your application online through your My microFIT home page.

  5. The OPA will review your application within 60 business days of submission to ensure that your project meets the microFIT Program eligibility requirements. If your project meets these requirements, the OPA will update your status to “Pending LDC Offer to Connect.”

Once you have submitted a request to your local distribution company (LDC) for an “Offer to Connect”, the LDC will determine if there is connection capability for the proposed project. If the LDC has determined that there is connection capability, it will notify the OPA with its “Offer to Connect” the project. The OPA will then issue a “Conditional Offer of microFIT Contract.”

  6. When you have received the “Conditional Offer of microFIT Contract,” you can proceed to build and connect your project. Contact your LDC to find out how to connect your project. Remember to provide your microFIT application reference number to your LDC
     .....
  7. The OPA will offer you a microFIT contract once your project is connected to the grid .

Please refer to the microFIT application section for more information on the microFIT application form requirements and the conditional offer.
